Welome to our first e-newsletter. We are excited to add this to our list of valuable services designed to help you reach your fullest potential and have fun on your journey.
Be Your Best
Sometimes we get caught up in taking care of everyone in our lives and forget that if we don't take care of ourselves, we will not be of much help to others. I have spent a lot of time on airplanes recently and as you know, they give a short safety demonstration as the plane backs away from the gate. During this time, they tell you that if an emergency occurs you are to put your oxygen mask on first before you try to assist others. Maybe we should apply this to our own lives. Here are a few suggestions to use as your oxygen mask.
- Daily Habits: List ten energizing habits that you will do each day that you know you will find helpful. Listening to your favorite music, writing in a personal journal, eating healthy, exercising. You create the list then commit to them every day.
- Get rid of the clutter: If you don't need it or haven't used it in six months, donate it, recycle it or just throw it out. This could also include commitments you did not really want to make in the first place. If they are not fulfilling us in someway, then they are holding us back.
- Eliminate the things you are putting up with. List at least 25 things you are tolerating- a dirty car, broken appliances, poor eating habits. Then pick the five easiest ones to take care of and fix them now. Notice how you feel as you take care of the first five. Then finish the list.
- Celebrate your success. Find ways to appreciate yourself. Give yourself a reward (take a day off from work for no reason) or buy yourself a present.
- Be clear on what you want for yourself. This is probably the most difficult. Make a list. If most of what you want are material things, ask yourself what they represent? Security? Prestige? You may want to enlist the help of a personal coach if you get stuck on this one.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions about the newsletter. Your success is important to me and I commit to use all the tools at my disposal to create an atmosphere that allows you to find success, whatever you definition is.
Sincerely,
Russell Bennett
